Crossmark and Post-Publication Update Policy
Naveen International Journal of Multidisciplinary Science (NIJMS)
Published by Arundhati Research Foundation (ARF)
- Policy Statement
The Naveen International Journal of Multidisciplinary Science (NIJMS) is committed to preserving the integrity, transparency, and permanence of the scholarly record. In alignment with international publishing standards, NIJMS participates in the Crossmark initiative provided by Crossref to ensure that readers can reliably identify the current and authoritative version of published content.
Crossmark enables readers to verify document status and access any updates, corrections, or retractions associated with a publication.
- Scope and Implementation
This policy applies to all content published in NIJMS, including research articles, review papers, editorials, and supplementary materials. Crossmark metadata is embedded in both HTML and PDF versions of all published documents, irrespective of whether post-publication updates have occurred.
The Crossmark logo serves as a persistent indicator of the document’s update status and provides access to relevant publication record information.
- Post-Publication Updates
3.1 Corrections (Erratum / Corrigendum)
Minor errors that do not compromise the scientific validity, reliability, or conclusions of the article are addressed through formal correction notices. Such notices are linked to the original article and are clearly identified in the Crossmark record.
3.2 Retractions
Retractions are issued in cases of significant ethical breaches, including but not limited to plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, redundant publication, or fundamental errors that invalidate the findings. Retraction notices are transparently प्रकाशित and remain permanently linked to the original article.
3.3 Withdrawals
Manuscripts may be withdrawn prior to formal publication or, in exceptional circumstances, after publication due to legal, ethical, or administrative reasons. Withdrawal statements will be clearly documented.
3.4 Addenda and Updates
Post-publication updates, including author corrections, metadata modifications, or supplementary additions, are documented as addenda and are systematically linked to the original publication via Crossmark.
- Version Control and Record Integrity
Each publication in NIJMS is assigned a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through Crossref, ensuring persistent identification and accessibility. All updates are formally registered and linked to the original DOI, thereby preserving version control and maintaining a transparent audit trail of changes.
The journal does not replace or remove published content; instead, any modifications are documented and linked to the original record to ensure accountability and traceability.
- Crossmark Metadata and Reader Notification
The Crossmark system provides readers with:
- Verification of the current document status
- Access to update history and publication record
- Links to correction, retraction, or update notices
- Additional metadata related to the publication
Readers are encouraged to utilize the Crossmark functionality to ensure they are consulting the most current version of the document.
- Ethical Compliance
NIJMS adheres to the principles and guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All post-publication decisions are undertaken in accordance with COPE standards and are subject to editorial oversight and due process.
